Goals for the year

This year, this blog will not only serve as my personal blog, but also for my Band/Jazz Band Class at school. It will really encourage me to post more than just once in a while, and, I think, will make my life a little less stressed out about everything, so I can get my ideas out on.. the internet – Somewhere outside my head is nice.

In band and jazz band, and even marching band this year, I want to become a better trumpet player. I don’t want to just get by and slide along, not really learning my music, and just letting it come to me. I want to show everyone, including myself, that I can learn music, and play my instrument very well. I know it will take a fair amount of effort on my part, especially with music for both band, AND jazz band. However, I know I can do it, and it will just take a few minutes a day, practicing my music, and working on exercises to make myself a better player.

Later this year, I will most likely (and hopefully) be getting my braces off, so I hope that that event doesn’t affect my playing, and if it does, I hope it does so in a positive manner.

So in conclusion, I need to stop slacking off, in all my classes, and get on top of everything!

I figured it would be. :(

Unfortunately, it will have to be something I’ll have to live with. Hopefully I’ve been training myself enough with my lips so that it shouldn’t be too much of an adjustment. At least there’s not any performances – that I’m aware of – That time of the year..

I have complete trust that you have the chops to become one of the finest players we’ve had at TRHS.

But I hate to tell you the braces thing will be an adjustment.
